Sarah Sze is one smart artist. I was delighted to get to hear her talk last night at The Fabric Workshop and Museum here in Philadelphia (in a packed house!), alongside Professor Hal Foster and Curator Carlos Basualdo. The conversation was rich, hovering around ideas of the diagram (along with its successes and failures), boundaries of where art begins and ends, and the highlighting and transformation of the mundane. Not to mention the question, what does Sculpture look like today?
If you are in the Philadelphia area, I highly recommend checking out the show, which ends this Sunday the 6th.
