I'm a super big fan of oxfords and these patterned shoes are just the trick to get me excited for Fall.

pretty, patterned beach totes

This time next week, I'll be feeling the sand between my toes along the beautiful beaches of Charleson, SC.  You could definitely say that I have vacation on the brain bigtime.  I don't get to the beach very often, especially for a whole week, so I'm really excited for the downtime with my husband & his family.  And I'll be spending most of my hours either at the beach or strolling & shopping along King Street, so a sturdy, yet versatile beach tote is key.  While I do love a traditional woven beach bag, these are some of my favorite pretty, patterned (& printed!) yet simple totes, including Charleston's own Proud Mary.  I might just have to splurge on one of their fair trade totes once I've reached southern soil . . . or perhaps some of their other textiles.

custom monogramming beirn bags

I love it when I get a chance to get my hands dirty and work on challenging custom print jobs for great clients.  Having worked with New York based Beirn handbags several years ago on some limited edition block-printed handbags, they inquired recently about printing some custom monogrammed totes for their staff.  For those unfamiliar with Beirn (pronounced 'burn'), they are a mother/daughters family-operated business that produces luxury snake skin bags.   

The stripes and letters were all carved by hand out of linoleum and then hand-printed onto the bags.  I love how they turned out, especially on the hot pink handbag below!  Monogramming is such a classic touch to these timeless totes.  

springtime socks + sandals

As the days get warmer, I can't help but get excited feeling the sunshine on my skin and pulling out my summer favorites from the depths of my closet.  This springtime weather, however, leaves me looking for creative ways to dress for those in-between days, when summertime is in my heart, but there's still a chill in the air.

That's why my heart skipped a beat when I stumbled upon Dace's Spring 2013 collection lookbook.  The pairing of thin, springtime socks with their chunky sandals and simple garments lends itself to a fresh and edgy look.  Wedges and socks, who knew?
